Are you in sales? Damn sure your are. Where ever you go or when ever you meet someone you are showing your best self, representing your best self in order to show the other person you are a great person. It does not have to be a hard persuasion or a formal presentation... slide shows and all. But you are present to sell yourself in how you dress, how you talk and how you walk. You are a full sales agent committed by yourself.

It is more evident in business, whether you are employed or self-employed you are a brand ambassador of the company you work in.  Best have your best "Face-Forward". Goodness forbid that you work in the creative sector and have a super "snoooooore" headshot. What are you trying to say? My product is just as uninteresting as me? You are the first point of contact. Once people get to see the product, they want to see the human behind the product. We work with people.  We do business with people. You only want to share with people. Hopefully.

In the dawn of 2016. Start the year with your goals and aspirations in full speed. You are what you project. You are what you sell. Sell it well.

Here are somethings to consider when planning your Creative Business Headshot

Does it represent who you are?

Are you funny, cool, serious or eclectic?

Or do you want to represent yourself in your best self?
Does it represent your style? Why wear a full suit when your customers will mostly see you in your favourite casual wear. Be authentic.

Does it reflect your brand? You know your brand best.

Who are the people in your team, the culture of your company? You can add all that into the mood of your creative portraits. That's why they are creative.

What do you want to say with your profile?

Do you know where you want to have your profile visible?
Have you considered specific styles or different appeals for LinkedIn, Facebook, website, Public relations, marketing, formal functions?

How do you want to use your headshot?
Perhaps it best to have some formal and some creative portraits for different situations and interactions. i.e job interviews, conferences, networking or team building

Do you want to show people your work environment?
Incorporating elements of your work environment or elements of your craft also shows people what you do.

The best headshot represent your best self. Full of great purpose and opportunities. Like a firm and polite greeting saying;

"Hello world. This is me. This is my face. I'm fantastically amazing. Nice to me you."
